Hello, i am Amit Biswas
I'm a software developer working in Bangalore...
And that means i sit in front of a computer all day long typing in code
that nobody can understand :)
Well, in reality, its much more complicated than that. There's all this business
about creating software, writing programs, estimating an effort, leading a team,
timelines, deadlines, meetings, tech-talks, deep-dives, goal setting, priority
setting.. and so on and on ...... in a nutshell thats all i do, and i Love it.
I am into software development for a long time. I have worked on various
projects involving lot of different technologies. The 7th largest open source project in the world carries my name as author. I worked on
The Mono Project
for some time, where i am co-author of 2 classes and author of more than 30 new APIs.
All of them are published.
I have also worked on a Microsoft project for porting the
SCORM engine from SLK(SharePoint Learning Kit) to the Windows Mobile platform.
It was my first project on a mobile OS. Primarily i am experienced in .Net
technologies, C#, ASP.Net, VB.Net, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone, SQL CE, .Net Micro Framework,
Windows Presentation Foundation(WPF), ExpressionBlend etc I have also worked
extensively on Flex, PHP, MySQL and LAMP/WAMP setups.
I am very passionate about electronics, embedded systems and robotics. I spend
a lot of time (and money) buying electronic components and doing DIY projects.
In 2009 i won the prestigious Microsoft Dare to Dream Different contest upto semi-finals.
Only 5 from India and 50 from worldwide have reached this level.
As a hobby i am into photography these days, although not a pro photographer yet but you can
call me a serious amateur, or a pro in the making :) :)
